AirBag Suit Could Save Lives

has always been a huge issue. Helmets and riding suits help somewhat, but they can only do so much. Dainese hope to remedy the problem with their D-Air Suit.

Similar methods have been developed in the past, but Dainese claims their system is better and will provide more promising results. The unit is mounted around the neck and upper back of the rider and can deploy in less than 40 milliseconds.

Instead of being attached to the bike itself, this design uses accelerometers and gyroscopes to detect sudden changes in velocity and orientation to the ground. When enough of a change is reached, the airbag will deploy and hopefully save the riders life.

The system proved itself on more than one occasion during a Grand Prix race on the Valencia Circuit. Three different riders from 2 different divisions got an up-close and personal test run on the new sfaety feature and it’s safe to say they were more than pleased. The slowest of the accidents occurred at 111km/h (70mph) and the fastest at 123km/h (77mph). I would call it an overall success.

Jet bike claims land speed record of 200 mph in 7.887 seconds

The latest buzz in the world of speed is a new jet bike that is being touted as world’s fastest after it crossed the 200 mph speed barrier in just 7.887 seconds. There are no detailed specifications available, except that it is propelled by J402-CA-702 Model 373 turbine engines. These turbines were developed for the military’s cruise missile and are able to produce 1,000 pounds of thrust. Have a look at the video below and try to feel the thrill of this wild ride.
